Avoid the ‘Made in Vietnam’ Trap: Have Non-Replicable Competitive Edge
When Trump says, “We don’t need products from Canada,” he is literally saying that anything Canada has or had, which we also have or had, is unnecessary.
We live in a trade war, information-driven, and automation-based economy. The only things that will survive are those with what Buffett always called a “moat”—but now, that moat needs to be taken to an extreme. You need a truly non-replicable competitive edge.
You do not want to have peers, and you certainly should not want to be on the lower end of the economy.
You do not want to be doing your best Warren Buffett impression in Romania.
You do not want to be another talking head spewing a Warren Buffett impression of Romania.
You do not want to be in hard assets.
You do not want to be in products or services.
You do not want to ask for permission to be great.
You only need a non-replicable competitive edge.
A non-replicable competitive advantage will not only give you peace.
It will also give you peace of mind.
When you spend too much time making deals and deal-making, who do you inevitably end up making a deal with?
The devil.
