Curation Over Capital
I went thrifting for the first time in my life—simply because I couldn’t find any retail options for what I was looking for. The item cost $8, and I wore it today. A WASP saw me in it and didn’t look too happy. That, in turn, made me extremely happy—because not many people with my last name can unintentionally trigger a WASP aesthetically or intellectually.
It wasn’t about price.
It was about taste and curation—
an organic vision.
This is the beautiful nuance of success in the West.
