Funny Trade Deal

This deal with Vietnam is amusing. 

Look at the thumbnail - mostly motorbikes and their local EVs. 

No one is driving around in a Ford. This is why the idea of US autos going to the market is wishful thinking. 

Some Euro auto makers like Mercedes assemble theirs to bypass some tariffs in exchange for FDI. Is that what the US auto makers going to do? 

The PM’s suggestion this is a market economy is funny too. Full market access to a $400 billion economy with a one-party government with state-owned enterprises will net the US how much?

The British Bloomberg rep refers to her boots-on-the-ground local that would never say anything bearish about the economy because she’s a nationalist socialist. Says things are “unclear”.

They always say that because they are literalists.

It’s very clear that this is worse today than it was yesterday.

The only sad thing is that the United States didn’t win the Vietnam War.

Then things would have been very clear.
