If Iran Can't Have a Nuclear Program, Why Can NATO Expand to Russia's Border?
If Russia invading Ukraine is justified on the grounds of NATO expansion, then invading Iran because of its regional expansion follows the same logic.
In one case, aid is sent to Ukraine while it is being invaded.
In another, aid is sent to Israel while it conducts military operations against Iran.
You don’t have to agree with either position, but you should apply the same standards to both.
The problem is that neither argument ultimately resolves the underlying issue: both involve crossing into another nation’s sovereignty.
Which raises a deeper question: what is private property, and what isn’t?
If individuals have a right to control their own property, do nations not have a similar claim over their territory and internal affairs?
Since the strikes on Iran began, has Iran acted in a way that is unreasonable relative to the constraints it faces?
Or are states simply behaving as states typically do when confronted with what they perceive as existential threats?
The answer depends less on which side you support and more on whether you apply the same principles consistently.
