I'm Having 'Asymmetric' War Fatigue
Broke friend buys a Civic = asymmetric genius?
Iran (~$350–400B GDP, sanctioned to hell) vs. trillion-GDP enemies = same logic.
Constraint → asymmetry.
Necessity, not choice.
Mainstream exploding with it right now: ‘asymmetric warfare,’ ‘perfect example,’ making war too expensive to sustain.
Talking heads discussing about it nonstop.
The strategic stake that Iran is playing is far more interesting to just the obvious asymmetric constraint alone.
Such as them flipping self defense to a first mover advantage to dictating the off ramp.
That inversion is far more impressive than talking about cheap drones all the time.
Russia-Ukraine: less global hype, less ‘Machiavellian genius’ shine for Putin.
Grinding war, contained feel.
Iran: asymmetric necessity → headline-dominating disruption vs. giants.
Way more upmanship energy and consequential.
