I’ve heard this idea floating around that someone can “short your calls” or trade against you in a way that distorts your outcome.
That’s a cope.
It’s a cope because, at a fundamental level, no one is interacting with the tape in that way.
The market isn’t being moved by someone fading your entries—it doesn’t even register you at that level.
And yet, there’s a contradiction people don’t want to face:
Most can’t influence the tape but a small minority can consistently align with it, anticipate it, and effectively author the move.
So if you think the edge comes from fading someone’s calls, go ahead short them.
You won’t distort the position.
You’ll just experience, in real time, what it feels like to be on the wrong side of structure.
