Be precise: the real North East is the NYC–Boston corridor (plus London as the parallel). New Jersey isn’t “the North East” in the way people mean it — it’s adjacent to the actual center of gravity.

FYI, most “passport bro” energy isn’t coming from the city anyway. It’s coming from the suburbs and the rural orbit.

The city doesn’t talk or be attracted to those destinations.
