The critical point is not the pullback itself, but the failure of resolution.

Without acceptance, echoes decay. When they decay, the primary thesis persists.

The ability to define the primary thesis, identify exhaustion pockets within it, and selectively author resolution — or deliberately withhold it — is what allows the open to be sequenced rather than reacted to.
