Performative Employees
One of my former employees preaches Buffett as if he’s her personal lord and savior. It’s a full performance. I don’t even think that style of investing even functions in a command-economy, yet day in and day out, Buffett is gospel. And sure—on the surface, it sounds great. It lands well. There’s a big collective consensus propping it up.
Meanwhile, it’s not like she lives off her investments. The “wins” are always one-off capital-gains moments—“look bro, I bought Apple”—which, ironically, isn’t even from her own command-economy environment, but still gets stamped as Buffett-approved.
But let’s be honest: none of that is authorship.
I’d be happy if these people just had basic spatial and environmental awareness. Have you noticed how, when they’re walking in the city, they clog the most lanes? To someone with temporal awareness, it’s a complete irritation. I genuinely wonder why that is.
‘There is a recognized link between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and differences or impairments in spatial awareness. Individuals with autism often experience challenges in perceiving, understanding, and interacting with the space around them, which can affect navigation, bodily coordination, and spatial reasoning skills. These difficulties are connected to sensory processing differences and cognitive variations common in autism, such as issues with visual-spatial reasoning, proprioception (awareness of body position), and memory for spatial layouts.’
