Post-Close Authorship: Shaping Price Beyond the Session
While most traders exit at the bell, I focused today on a rare phenomenon: active authorship after hours—particularly in the context of earnings-driven flows.
This trade/s was executed live and transparently, with two public entries, each timestamped in real time:
Probe – 3:17 PM: Initial long position entered at 6354
Full Entry – 3:50 PM: A larger add-on initiated at 6343
The capital allocation was strategic—30% on the initial probe, 70% on the confirmed add-on, yielding a calculated weighted average price of 6346.
Shortly after the 3:50 PM entry, price spiked sharply to 6362, and several additional bursts of strength for more authorship followed into the after-hours session. These extensions provided ample opportunities for exit, with many occurring well above the average cost basis.
