Product Selection in Tourney
In a tournament environment you actually want bigger swings. What’s interesting is that the intraday spikes down (in black) are hitting NQ much harder, while the recoveries — from a pure point perspective — are materially smaller.
That asymmetry is affecting my performance, and I’m sure it’s affecting a great many others as well.
The downside expansion is simply faster than the upside restoration.
That matters in a constrained competition environment because volatility is not symmetrical in practice, especially in Nasdaq futures.
Will see how the afternoon goes.
This might be the unforced error of product selection. .
