The Author Writes and Spells
Think of a surfer.
The surfer does not create the wave.
The surfer does not predict every movement of the wave.
The surfer aligns with the wave and uses skill to amplify what the wave is already doing.
The result looks almost magical because it is neither passive observation nor brute force control.
Reaction
The world acts on you.
Prediction
You try to anticipate what the world will do.
Alignment
You recognize the world’s direction and synchronize with it.
Many traditions: from Daoism to high-level trading to elite athletics—tend to view the third level as the most powerful.
Not because they control everything, but because you stop fighting the structure.
A Daoist might call this wu wei (“effortless action”).
A trader might call it trading with the trend.
A sailor might call it using the wind.
The common idea is:
The highest form of authorship is not imposing your will on reality.
It is expressing your will through the forces that are already present.
