When 9/11 Laughter Echoed: The World’s Quiet Contempt for America
A 0% tariff means nothing without a commitment to purchase—and the fact that you need one is already a red flag. The fact that you're purchasing at 0% for the longest time without a waiver, just because you created "value chains," is already wild.
POTUS says America is respected again.
Respected where, and by whom?
Did Ukraine respect America?
Does China respect America?
Does the EU respect America?
Does Canada respect America?
Does North Korea respect America?
Does Afghanistan respect America?
If they did, why haven’t they done anything meaningful out of respect?
All of these countries are domestically telling their people how they are superior in some way relative to America. During 9/11, much of the Eastern world chuckled—even as you were sending aid and helping them get into the WTO.
Most of the world wants to see America’s decline.
Because that is their path to rising in the hierarchy.
You must bring back as much manufacturing as you push the limits of technology.
That’s how you outgrow your twin deficits.
The Magnificent Seven stocks—Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Tesla—are evidence of this. You had something the world envied.
Your proprietary IP—thrown away through globalization—so they could flood the market with AI and EVs.
You cannot rely on outsourcing. That’s not free trade when you're trading with those who are not free like you.
What we have now is a global Ponzi scheme.
And the more comfortable you get with it, the more it’s going to cost—and hurt—you in the long run.
